Moroccan High Atlas Mountains Trek

Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime experience to support survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Overview

Home to rocky gorges, high altitude settlements and incredible scenery, the High Atlas Mountains are a trekker’s paradise.

You will tackle extreme temperatures and tough climbs but be rewarded with varied landscapes, delightful village stays and spectacular views of the entire Atlas range and the Marrakech plains beyond. Your challenge will end with well-deserved celebrations in Marrakech; a wonderful chance to experience the vibrant Moroccan way of life.

When is the trip happening?

The original trip was due to happen over Anti-Slavery Week (Monday 12 October - Monday 19 October 2020); however due to Covid-19 the trip is being rescheduled to the second half of 2021. We will update this page when the new date is confirmed.

How many people will be going?

The minimum number of participants for the trip is 12 and the maximum number is 25. Spaces will go quickly, so book as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.

What to expect on the trip

In this six-day, 75km trek, you will reach altitudes of over 4,000m in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. See the stunning scenery of lakes, rivers and villages as you pass through Ouaneskra, Azib Likemt, Amsouzert, Ifni Lake and Neltner Refuge to reach the Toubkal summit on Anti-Slavery day. After, you will have time to enjoy a well-earned rest in the historic and beautiful city of Marrakech.

Costs

Upon registering, you will need to pay a fee of £390 per person. We then ask that you raise £1,800 to support survivors of modern slavery as they rebuild their lives.

This may seem like a lot, but we will be with you every step of the way to help you reach your target. You can ask your employer if they will match any donations.

Where will your money go?

Your donations will help survivors like Tania. Tania was trafficked from Latvia under the promise of a new job and life in the UK. When she arrived, she was forced to work on UK farms for over 10 years for no money. Tania was supported by Unseen’s women’s safehouse.

Find out from Tania herself why supporting Unseen is so important.
